Driving on a race track, is always a great day.
"I've never seen a guy come off the track without a smile on his face," Event Chairman Tony Machi of the SCCA Milwaukee region said.
But now you can put a smile on a kid's face, with every dollar of the drive event at Road America benefiting Children's Hospital of Wisconsin.
"Our goal is to pass the million mark...We've raised $950,000," Machi said.
The day after the Indy Car race, the Sports Car Club of America's Milwaukee region will host the event.
"We have the 'Group 1' guys or the experienced guys, we call them track rats...and then you get the novices who have never been on a race track, ever in their life but have a nice performance car," Machi said.
And a variety of cars, too.
"We had everything out at these events, from Ferraris....to Priuses...and it's an opportunity for somebody to find out what their car is capable of, in a safe and controlled environment," Machi said.
With an hour and a half of track time, or you can get a joy ride with NASCAR driver Josh Bilicki and professional sports car driver Ryan Eversley. Check it out at drivechw.com.
"Road America is the National Park of speed," Machi said.
