Friday afternoon into Friday evening Southeast Wisconsin will need to stay weather aware - strong to severe storms are expected to move through the area.
The Storm Prediction Center has much of Southeast Wisconsin under an 'enhanced risk' area, highlighting the potential for numerous severe storms.
The TMJ4 Storm Team in-house weather model, stopped in time Friday evening, shows a line of storms moving through.
These linear structures often indicate a damaging wind threat. Storms are likely in the afternoon as well, ahead of this line.
Those storms may contain quarter size hail along with strong winds. While exact timing will likely change a little with new model runs, just keep in mind that the weather from Friday afternoon into the evening could pose a threat, especially to anyone with outdoor plans.
Overall, the threat looks like this - the biggest concern will be damaging winds, there is some risk for hail, a slight risk for a tornado or two, and low flood risk.
Rainfall amounts for most places will likely range from 0.50"-1", with a few places seeing slightly more or less rain.
It will be hot and humid ahead of storms. Highs will warm into the 80s.
Dew points will surge through the morning into the afternoon, reaching near 70° by midday.
Stay with TMJ4 on Friday for the most up to date forecast information. Also, be sure you have a way to get information about incoming storms, through a weather radio or phone app, or both.
