WINTER STORM WARNING in effect for the following counties from 6 p.m. Thursday to 10 a.m. Friday: Kenosha, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Sheboygan, Washington, and Waukesha. Six to eight inches of snow is expected with higher amounts near 10 inches possible. Dangerous travel conditions are expected.
WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY in effect for the following counties from 6 p.m. Thursday to 9 a.m. Friday: Dodge, Fond du Lac, Jefferson, and Walworth. Four to six inches of snow is expected and will cause dangerous travel conditions.
The latest Winter Storm moves into southern Wisconsin late this afternoon and throughout the evening. Widespread impacts are expected overnight and into Friday morning.
Snow showers begin in Milwaukee and much of SE Wisconsin around and after 6 p.m. Snow rates pick up around 9-10 p.m. Moderate snowfall is expected near Lake Michigan through the late evening and overnight. Lake-enhanced snow is possible in the Winter Storm Warned area. Easterly winds will gust up to 30-mph tonight -- making travel difficult. Blowing snow will be a concern into Friday morning.
Snow showers will begin to taper off by Friday at sunrise. A few snow flurries may continue into Friday afternoon for areas near Lake Michigan. Highs will top out in the mid 30s.
After a calmer Saturday, another round of snowfall looks likely Saturday night into Sunday. 1-3" of snowfall accumulation is possible with this round of snowfall. Additional snow flurries continue into Monday.
Next week appears cooler & calmer with highs in the lower 30s.
