More storms develop overnight into the morning

and last updated

The downpours rolled through overnight and into the early morning hours with a lot of lightning and 1-3” of rain across SE Wisconsin. The heaviest rain was south of Milwaukee, and Milwaukee had about 1” with the morning rain and then a spotty afternoon downpour. We went from fall to summer overnight with highs in the lower 80s and very humid air today. We are dry for the rest of the evening, but more storms develop after midnight and will linger into the morning commute. We stay cloudy, warm and muggy with highs near 80. After a midday break from rain, more storms fire up in the late afternoon and evening.

Thursday morning has scattered t’showers and it will be very humid with highs in the mid 70s in the afternoon. Most of the day is rain-free until evening when t’storms start to develop ahead of a cold front. The best chance for storms is Thursday night and will linger into Friday morning. With 3 more rounds of downpours tonight through Friday morning, most of the area will get another 1-3” of rain. Behind the front, the humidity becomes much more comfortable on Friday and highs will be in the 70s. The only issue is the 20-35 mph westerly wind all day. Saturday is gorgeous with low humidity and a high of 75. More rain moves into the area Saturday night and Sunday morning.
