Southeast Wisconsin weather: Snowy Thursday

and last updated

The snow forecast for Thursday into Thursday night is ramping up a bit, especially north of Milwaukee. A strong Alberta Clipper will track across the state, with the center of low pressure passing to our south. This sets us up in a favorable location for accumulating snow.

The heaviest snow likely falls across East-Central Wisconsin, with Fond du Lac and Sheboygan counties potentially picking up 6". The City of Milwaukee and the northern suburbs can expect more of a 2-4" snowfall and only 1-2" south. The snow moves in during the mid-morning Thursday and continues through the day.

There may be a lull in the snow Thursday night before more snow potentially wraps around on the backside of the system Friday morning. Everyone should plan to shovel and prepare for a snowy commute on Thursday evening and potentially Friday morning.
