Some snow tonight, more later this week

and last updated

Behind last night’s cold front, today was cloudy and cooler with a high in the mid to upper 40s While it was dreary, it was dry, but that changes tonight. Rain moves after 10:00 p.m., and then changes to snow after midnight. Areas west and north of Milwaukee are under a Winter Weather Advisory until 7:00 a.m. Tuesday for 1-2" of snow. There could be a few isolated spots near 3". Milwaukee will see about a half inch of snow. Any accumulation is on grassy surfaces and will melt quickly with afternoon sun and highs in the lower 40s.

Wednesday morning has an isolated rain/snow mix, otherwise it is breezy and cold with highs in the lower 40s. Another storm system moves in Thursday with a morning wintry mix, then rain is likely in the afternoon with highs near 40, and then back to snow by evening and overnight. It will be windy as well with gusts to 30 mph. This storm looks like it will have more accumulating snow by Friday morning, but it all depends on when the rain changes to snow. Friday is sunny, windy and cold with highs in the upper 30s. Saturday and Sunday remain sunny, windy and cold with highs mainly in the 30s.
