We continued to dig out today but at least the weather cooperated with sunshine, a light breeze and highs near 30. Milwaukee actually got slightly above freezing before sunset. The roads are in very good shape but watch out for slick spots on side streets, parking lots and driveways as the slush from today refreezes. Morning lows stay in the low 20s in Milwaukee to the upper teens inland. Tuesday is another sunny and mild day with highs in the lower 30s. The NW breeze does increase a little and will keep wind chills in the 20s.
We get another sunny day on Wednesday with highs in the low to mid 30s. Clouds return on Thursday with the next storm. High temps will be in the mid 30s thanks to a southerly wind to 35 mph so the initial precipitation will be a rain/sleet mix. The mix changes to more snow by late afternoon and Thursday night with 2-5" of snow expected. Those totals depend on when the mix changes to snow. If we get more rain, I am concerned about the weight of all this recent snow along with the rain on roofs and decks. Take the time to shovel them off the next few days. This storm will have storm NW wind at 20-40 mph so it will be cold, but there won't be lake effect snow this time. Once the snow leaves early Friday morning, get ready for the cold. Highs on Friday are in the teens with wind chills below 0 all day. The weekend is cold and windy with highs struggling to get out of the single digits and lows will below 0 for everyone. The wind chills will be at least -15 to -20 overnight
