Strong winds are the story today, and they are bringing almost a fall feel to the air with very low dew points. Be careful if you are going to grill this evening, especially with coals, because the wind will still be whipping this evening. Tonight will be dry, cool and clear with a breezy wind turning to the southwest with lows in the 50s.
Thursday will still be breezy, warmer and more humid with sunshine to start. It will not stay that way, however, as a cold front swings across the area. Storms will develop along the front mainly around 3 p.m. in the northwest and swing southeast, exiting the area around 8 p.m. Some of these storms may be strong to even severe during that time with large hail and intense winds possible, so take it easy on the roads if you are heading up to Green Bay for the Packers game Thursday evening. Severe weather will not be an issue up there.
Friday is cooler and more comfortable again with temperatures falling into the low 70s with a lighter wind. Another cold front swings through Saturday to bring a chance for some showers and a few thunderstorms, but the day will not be a washout. Sunday and Labor Day are the drier days out of the holiday weekend with more sunshine expected and highs in the low 70s Sunday and upper 70s Monday.
