Mostly cloudy skies for Thanksgiving Day

and last updated

Most of us got at least a half inch of rain overnight with higher amounts north where there were some t’showers. Scattered light rain continued this morning and it mixed in with snowflakes as the temps dropped. The high was 53 at midnight, and quickly fell into the 30s by mid morning with strong NW winds. The peak gust today was 56 mph in Kenosha, 52 mph in Milwaukee and Kenosha, and many 46 mph+ readings. The wind is slowly diminishing this evening but will still be in 25-40 mph range. Wind chills are in the teens and overnight lows will drop into the upper 20s with a wind at 10-20 mph by morning. Thanksgiving is quiet for travelers with clouds, a light wind, and highs in the upper 30s. That is the quiet day for the holiday weekend.

Most of Friday is dry as well for shoppers with a high of 39, but a light wintry mix moves in by 5pm. It changes to rain overnight, and the rain continues Saturday, and heavy at times, with a high of 41 and a SE wind to 30 mph. Most of us will see another half inch or more of rain. As the colder air moves in on Sunday, a morning light rain changes to a light wintry mix by afternoon with less than an inch of snow.
