Partly cloudy and pleasant Tuesday ahead

and last updated

We had a little bit of sun this morning, but the clouds won the battle and have started to drop light rain and flurries across SE Wisconsin. The roads are just wet and all this moves out before 8 p.m.

The gusty wind also dies down with temps near 30 overnight. Inland areas will be frosty with temps in the mid-20s. Tuesday is the nicest day of the week with some sun, a lighter wind, and highs near 40. Things begin to change a lot Tuesday night.

The wind increases over 30 mph Tuesday night and could gust to 40 mph. It remains very windy on Wednesday with southerly winds near 40 mph and high temps in the mid to upper 40s. It will be mild but a very dreary and windy day. Rain develops before noon and then quickly changes to light snow by evening behind the cold front.

This is our best chance for snow before Christmas and it looks to be less than 1". Thursday is cloudy with flurries, gusty winds, and cold temps. Highs are only in the teens with wind chills near 0 all day. Christmas morning is windy and very cold with lows in the single digits. Wind chills will be -10 in Milwaukee to -18 inland.
