The return of summer-like weather is ahead for Friday. Afternoon highs will climb into the upper 70s, and a few places could touch 80-degrees. The warmth has a tradeoff... wind. Gusts this afternoon will be as high as 40 mph. A few high clouds move in during the day, but still expect plenty of sunshine.
A Small Craft Advisory is in place for the nearshore waters of Lake Michigan. Gusty winds will cause waves to build between 4 and 6 feet.
A weak front will move through Saturday morning. As winds turn to the north and northeast, high temperatures will only make it into the 60s, and it will remain cooler by the lake. Some low clouds will move in off the lake, but we should still see some sunshine. Sunday will feature a mix of sun and clouds and highs in the 60s.
After a long stretch of dry weather, rain returns for the area on Monday. Temperatures will trend cooler next week, with highs in the 50s and 60s and lows in the 40s.
