The cold front arrived last evening and temps dropped into the single digits overnight with NW winds gusting at 30 to 50 mph. Blowing snow and wind chills to -15 were the issues for those stepping outside this morning. We had some sun most of the day before clouds and a few light snow showers quickly passed through the area. High temps got into the low teens but the strong winds kept wind chills below 0 all day. The bad news for tonight is that the clouds are clearing out and temps will be 4 in Milwaukee to -2 inland with wind chills to -20 by morning. Clouds increase Saturday afternoon as a storm passes to our south. We could see a dusting to less than 1" of fluffy snow mainly south of I-94 by evening. Highs temps struggle to get out of the single digits with wind chills to -5 all day.
Sunday morning is the coldest of this blast with lows of -9 in Milwaukee to -14 inland. Wind chills will be -25 to -35 in the morning and -20 all afternoon with actual temps from 0 to 5 above. It is never too cold to snow and Monday proves that with 1-2" of fluff as high temps try to get above 10 degrees. That cold front reinforces the cold air for the rest of the week with highs in the single digits and lows below 0 through next weekend.
