******A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY WILL BE IN EFFECT FOR ALL OF SE WISCONSIN FROM 5PM FRIDAY UNTIL 6PM SATURDAY.
After a dreary and mild week, a cold front brought a return to the arctic air this morning with temps in the single digits and wind chills below zero. It was the only sunny day of the week, yet highs were stuck in the teens with wind chills near 0. The wind becomes light tonight with lows near early, and then temps start to rise into the teens by morning. Clouds will also increase tonight ahead of the next storm system. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect 5pm Friday until 6pm Saturday for all of SE Wisconsin. Flurries will develop Friday afternoon and snow showers after 5pm. The high temp is near 30 with a SE wind at 10-20 mph. The snow intensity increases Friday night and we should wake up with 2-4” of snow by Saturday morning. SE winds will also increase to 30 mph overnight. With temps near freezing, expect a wintry mix including rain and freezing rain early in the day on Saturday.
Saturday’s high temperature is 34 before noon, then the wind shifts and the temps drop into the low 20s the rest of the day. The snow will taper off and we will end up with 3-5” of accumulation. There will be a few isolated areas of 6” north of Milwaukee and along the lakefront. The west wind will gust to 40 mph all day creating blowing snow and nasty wind chills. Sunday morning is windy and cold with lows near 0 and wind chills close to -20. Sunday is sunny with a high of 13 and wind chills below zero all day. The Packers will be playing in sunshine with highs near 60 in California.
