Wintry Mix Exiting

and last updated

Our gloomy Sunday is wrapping up with a wintry mix as the colder air is moving in with a cold front which will bring an end to the precipitation late tonight with temperatures falling close to the freezing mark. With temperatures hovering near 32 degrees on Monday morning a few slippery spots may pop up during the morning commute, especially on bridges and overpasses and inland spots where some of today's moisture freezes overnight so take it easy on sidewalks as well.

Monday will be mostly cloudy and seasonably cold again with highs in the upper 30s for the third day in a row but at least we are a bit drier. A warm front swings through early on Tuesday morning, touching off some sprinkles, flurries and potentially light freezing rain with temperatures close to freezing again. After the warm front sweeps through it will be mostly cloudy and slightly warmer with a high of 40 degrees in Milwaukee. Wednesday is the best day out of the week to get anything done outdoors as partly cloudy skies are anticipated and highs will be close to average: in the mid-40s.

A rainy and breezy storm system barrels through on Thursday so highs in the mid-40s won't feel so warm with a brisk wind and wet weather. The colder 30s return on a breezy northwest wind on Friday but skies look to clear out a bit more as we get closer to the weekend which looks cool at this point.
