Happy New Year! The end of the year had some sun, some clouds and highs in the mid 20s. At least the wind was light and it stays light tonight. If you are heading out you don't have to worry about snowy roads as we stay dry, but despite a light breeze, wind chills are in the single digits and teens. Lows will be in the teens by midnight, and then the lakefront starts to warm up with a light east breeze.
The lakefront will be near 32 by sunrise with clouds and flurries. A fast moving storm will bring snow showers by midday. With temps in the mid 30s near the lake, there will be wintry mix including rain at first. A NE wind at 20 mph will keep us in the low to mid 30s but wind chills are in the low 20s all day. Snow showers become likely in the late afternoon and evening and should be out of here before midnight. Most of the area will see about 2" of slushy snow. Well north of Milwaukee will see less than 1" while the state line could see 3" of snow.
Saturday is partly cloudy and nice with highs in the mid 30s and a light wind. Flurries and light snow are possible Saturday night and Sunday morning with a dusting of accumulation. Sunday afternoon is in the mid 30s with some sun. Next week is mostly dry and mild with highs in the upper 30s. We could see 40 on Wednesday and Thursday with a wintry mix on Wednesday.
