WAUWATOSA — Wauwatosa Police say a drive-by shooting prompted a police chase that ended with the suspect crashing the car, and police tackling him to the ground.
In a news release, Wauwatosa Police said two officers in an unmarked car near 76th and Hampton in Milwaukee saw a person point a gun out the window of a car and fire at someone walking nearby.
The detective and officer in the police car followed the shooter and radioed for help.
The car sped away from Wauwatosa and Milwaukee police cars before crashing at 50th and Auer.
Two people then ran away from the car. Officers tackled one suspect. Police say both are in custody.
Police say the original target of the shooting has not come forward.
