Meet the 15-year-old from Brookfield who could soon represent Wisconsin in the Winter Olympics

BROOKFIELD — Marcus Mueller isn't your typical teen.

"The speed is fun," Mueller says.

Mueller is a Brookfield Central freshman, who is on the C team of USA Luge.

"They usually ask how did you get into luge, and I say it's kind of like bobsled. But I explain that it's feet first and it's like way cooler than bobsled," Mueller says with a laugh.

And the gear needs explanation too.

"These are called kuffens... they look like candy canes. These are what help you drive your sled. The helmet holds your face shield and it's aerodynamic. These are spikes. They help dig into the ice," Mueller says.

TODAY'S TMJ4 Main Sports Anchor Lance Allan asks to describe your shoes?

"These are called booties. When you put your feet in, they help you point your toes for aerodynamics," Mueller explains.

Plenty for a young man to get used to. But the future is bright. With the goal? The 2026 Winter Games in Italy.
