Just watching Ashley Matz hit a tennis ball, you know she's not an ordinary 12-year-old.
Matz recently won the girls 12 national indoor singles championship, believed to be the first gold ball champion at Western Racquet Club in Elm Grove.
"It's such an opportunity when you're even in the finals but actually winning it and actually playing really well in the finals is really big to me," says Matz. "And winning a gold ball is such a big trophy."
Matz plays in so many tournaments, balancing her sport and school can be tough, yet she manages to be nearly perfect, on and off the court.
For her efforts, she is this week's Student Athlete of the week.
