Tahleel Mohieldin is TMJ4's Racine County Reporter.
Tahleel joined TMJ4 in July of 2023 as a multimedia journalist.
After earning a Journalism degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in December of 2019, Tahleel began her career at WISC-TV/Channel3000 in Madison.
There she quickly went from intern to reporter, covering everything from issues around living conditions in the county jail, flooding on the Mississippi River to local impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Tahleel was also a part of the team that won Chicago/Midwest Regional for Outstanding Achievement for Evening Newscast award, for her work covering President Joe Biden’s visit to Wisconsin’s capitol in 2023.
While still in college, Tahleel wrote for UW’s Badger Herald, and worked as a news reporter for the university’s radio station, WSUM 91.7. She also spent a semester studying abroad at the University of Westminster and interning for the CBS News Bureau in London.
Tahleel is passionate about fair and honest storytelling that sheds light on people, issues and places that would otherwise go unseen, from the most uplifting stories to the toughest news.
When she’s not working, Tahleel enjoys reading, biking, trying new foods, and most of all traveling. So far, she’s visited seven different countries and hopes to keep going.
She was raised in the Milwaukee area but is originally from Sudan. Her family immigrated to the U.S. when she was just 5 years old. You can email her at tahleel.mohieldin@tmj4.com.
