Susan Kim

News at 4 Anchor

Susan Kim has been with TMJ4 for 30 years and counting, after joining in 1994. She is a member of the Milwaukee Press Club Hall of Fame. Susan was also named to the 2024 class of the Chicago/Midwest Chapter of the National Academy of Arts and Sciences' Silver Circle, which recognizes outstanding service within the television industry for 25 years or more.

Her career at TMJ4 News started on the assignment desk on weekends and reporting during the week. Her hard work and dedication paid off, and she was moved to full-time reporting and then anchoring, covering many stories, including the Packers Super Bowls in New Orleans and San Diego, the Falk explosion, and the crane collapse in the building of Miller Park. Susan has been nominated for several Emmy awards during her time with us, including for her work covering "Wisconsin's First February Tornadoes" and the "Azana Spa Shootings."

Susan spent 19 years on the anchor desk of "TMJ4 News Today," making her our longest-running news anchor on mornings. "TMJ4 News Today" had been recognized as the "Best Morning Newscast" by the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association. In September of 2022, Susan moved to our 4 p.m. newscast, where she has helped lead the station's coverage on several big events, including the return of the Waukesha Christmas parade.

Susan also believes in making her community a better place to live. One of her biggest passions is the "TMJ4 Community Baby Shower," which she helped start in 2001. It began as a one-day drive to collect much-needed baby items for families in need in southeast Wisconsin. The event has evolved into a month-long event. Since its inception, the "Community Baby Shower" has collected tens of thousands of items and helped countless babies in our area. Susan understands the need firsthand, as a mother of three: Madeline, Gabrielle, and Alex.
