The Whitefish Bay U-13 All-Stars are a baseball team on a mission.

The state champions begin pool play in Kalamazoo, Mich. Thursday. The winner of the region advances to the Little League Intermediate Baseball World Series in Livermore, Cal. July 28-August 4.

"All of these kids have been playing together for close to 10 years," said coach Nick Weide. "We've head some success and some failures. This year their was some serious success."

"We didn't do so well last year," said pitcher Jason Janzak. "This year is really something special."

"Our team has such good energy in the dugout," said center field Joey Weide. "We just talk it up so much and rattle the pitcher. It's such a good thing to have a team like this."

"This is our last chance because Little League ends after this year," said catcher Ben Van Bell. "Hopefully we can do it."
