MILWAUKEE — The Milwaukee Area Technical College Stormers are the number one ranked junior college basketball team in the nation.

The Stormers style? Crazy, could be an adjective.

"A game is high intensity. We are down the floor like as quick as possible, and we try to share the ball, as much as possible as well," Anthony Martinez says.

Martinez is quiet but he's definitely showing the way, on and off the court.

"He's going to be a great leader," head coach Randy Casey says. "He's not a big vocal leader on the floor. He is just a leader by example. So, he's always going to make sure he puts in the work and lead by example that way."

Off the court? Martinez has a 3.6 grade point average in business management and marketing.

"Just to get a 3.6, you [have to] put in as much work on the school end, as well on the basketball end as well," Martinez says.

When he's not on the court or at school, Martinez works.

"I actually work in the summertime at Rich Eyers Farms in Sugar Grove. That's actually a top 100 golf course in the United States and the nation," Martinez says.

Martinez feels athletics, along with his summer job go hand-in-hand.

"I [work in] hospitality there, so you have to actually work all around the course as well," Martinez says.
