PYEONGCHANG, South Korea (AP) - Wonder what Sam Malone might think of all this.
Actress Kirstie Alley took to Twitter on Monday night, apparently having watched enough TV coverage of curling at the Olympics to last her, well, at least another four years.
Alley, who has appeared in dozens of movies and TV shows, including the 1980's sitcom "Cheers," wrote: "Im not trying to be mean but..... Curling is boring."

Uh oh. Look out!
Some Twitter folks agreed wholeheartedly. But plenty of others - presumably curling fans - got riled up as if Ted Danson's bartender Malone character just announced that it was last call.
There were some obvious shots at Alley's weight issues—she has been a spokesperson for Jenny Craig—as well as her being a member of the Church of Scientology.
Some got more creative, such as Tyler George of the USA Curling team comparing Alley's Rebecca Howe character to Shelley Long's Diane Chambers.

One guy used some of the titles of movies and TV shows Alley has starred in to try to persuade her.
“Look who’s talking” with the “profoundly normal” movies you’ve starred in, “Kirstie”. This game of “sticks and stones” is the “runaway” favorite of the Olympics. Give curling “one more chance”. “Cheers” 🍻

Another suggested that just by her watching the sport, she'll find it slowly creeping into her everyday life.
And, yet, you were watching it. That's how it starts. Soon you will be renting curling videos and realize you've been sweeping your porch far more than it needs it. My wife loves to watch curling. She normally bored with most sports. Go figure.

Oh, but John Shuster of Team USA's curling squad sounded off in a tweet:
We’re not trying to be mean either but your movies weren’t exactly riveting theater Kirstie. #justsaying #curling #rockit #TeamUSA https://t.co/8q9KtxvCPe

Shortly after her initial tweet, Alley wrote on Twitter: "Another day to try and be as 'sensitive' as possible to not offend anyone anywhere anytime ...about anything..lmfao GOOD LUCK"

Well, she apparently reconsidered her stance on curling a few hours later, thanks to her son:
Ok I'm gonna give it another chance! My son loves watching Curling! He doesn't love figure skating which I do so we can make each other give 2nd chances today!! ❤️❤️ https://t.co/lFJkFF9ioP

Oh, and also thanks to this discovery:

Well, now that all that has been swept aside, it's happy hour once again for Kirstie and the curlers.
