Wisconsin Olympic curlers are back in the Badger State after a whirlwind trip to the Winter Olympics in PyeongChang.

They arrived at the Dane County Regional Airport Monday after weeks away from home. Gold medal winner Matt Hamilton, his sister Becca and Nina Roth all grew up practicing together at the Madison Curling Club.

They all felt the support from home while half a world away in Korea.

“That’s so cool to have all the support of everyone here in Wisconsin and everyone in the United States pulling for us," Matt said.

The Gold medal win by the men’s team has brought new found interest to the sport across the country and the world.

“We’ve definitely heard about the curling buzz that’s going on” said Nina Roth.

“All the 'learn to curls' in the area are all sold out so it’s been really cool to watch the sport grow” said Becca.

The Madison Curling Club says all of their classes are booked for the rest of the season and they’ve heard the same about other curling facilities.

As for the gold medal that Matt now wears around his neck, he says he would like to wear it all the time but also doesn’t want to be a show off.

“I don’t know what’s kosher or what the protocol is… I’d like to wear it as much as possible” said Matt.

His Olympic ride continues later this week when he heads to New York to be on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
