Los Angeles Clippers head coach Glenn “Doc” Rivers spoke to the Marquette men’s basketball team Friday. The Golden Eagles (18-11, 9-8 Big East) take on Creighton at home Saturday in their final regular season game.

Rivers, who played at Marquette from 1980-1983, is in Milwaukee for the Clippers-Bucks game Friday night at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.
While at Marquette, Rivers averaged 13.9 points and 4.3 assists per game. The Warriors appeared in two NCAA tournaments and one NIT tournament during River’s three seasons. He was selected in the second round of the NBA Draft, and went on to play 13 years for Atlanta, New York, and San Antonio.
Rivers is in his 18th season as a head coach in the NBA. He has a career 789-577 record, and won the 2008 NBA Finals with Boston.
Marquette retired River’s number 31 jersey in 2004. He is one of 13 Marquette individuals to have his number retired by the university.
