Will Blackmon: Coach McCarthy picked worse hotels after Packers losses

Posted

While the spotlight may be on Coach Mike McCarthy’s future as the head coach of the Green Bay Packers, former Packers safety Will Blackmon reminisced about how the coach reacted to a four-game losing streak in 2008.

“When I was on the packers in 2008 We lost 4 straight road games. Every time we lost Coach McCarthy made sure each hotel got worse,” Blackmon tweeted. “He said ‘If you want to stay in a nice hotel, WIN A DAMN GAME’ One hotel in Jax I swear was on First 48.”

Fellow DB Charles Woodson replied to the tweet, saying, “ I think my room was outside on the roof.”

Blackmon added, “Johnny Jolly’s room was still waiting on forensics to arrive.”

Former Packers wide receiver James Jones jumped in as well, saying McCarthy, “had us in the Motel 6.” Donald Driver added to Jones’ comment, "Boy you guys are crazy, but so true…”

The Packers have lost two straight games, including Sunday night’s division loss to the Minnesota Vikings. They are 4-6-1 on the season, with all six losses coming on the road.
