The Green Bay Packers kicked off their first day of training camp Thursday with all eyes on star quarterback Aaron Rodgers whose new deal is not done just yet.

Rodgers was crisp and sharp in practice. He hit Jimmy Graham on a sideline pass that Graham caught in a tight window.

His biggest play of the day came when he hit wide receiver Trevor Davis who beat the defense deep. It almost looked like Davis wasn't going to get there but he did. The crowd went crazy after that grab.

With the Packers drafting so many receivers, Davis needs to make plays like that so he can try and separate himself.

In the locker room, the two-time MVP talked about his pending contract. He said he's not worried about the extension getting done. His agent has been in constant talks with the Packers who are trying to get something done.

Rodgers said he is focused on leading the team and helping out the young guys now that camp has started. He pointed out that he and his agent have been working hard with the Packers to try and get something done.

Rodgers was really excited about talking about the new energy and vibe going on in Green Bay. He said at his locker that new defensive coordinator Mike Pettine gave one of the best speeches that he's heard. He was ready to put it in the hall of fame.

The Packers will be back at it on Friday for their second practice of training camp.
