The general manager of the Green Bay Packers says that a long-term deal with quarterback Aaron Rodgers will happen "soon."

Brian Gutekunst tells NBC Sports' Pro Football Talk that both the Packers and Rodgers may be waiting on other quarterback contracts that may come involving the Falcons and Matt Ryan, and the Patriots and Tom Brady.

“We’re pretty confident that this is something that’s taking its normal course, its normal time,” Gutekunst told NBC Sports.

Currently, Rodgers has two years and $42 million left on his deal, but other contracts including the Vikings-Kirk Cousins deal include not only more money per year, but every dollar guaranteed.
