GREEN BAY -- Each year the Green Bay Packers invite a community organization to Family Night.

This year, the team invited one thousand members of Wisconsin 4-H. There was a 4-H representative from every county in Wisconsin at the Packers scrimmage on Saturday.

"4-H is a program for young people kindergarten through 13th grade," said Melinda Pollen, youth development educator for the Brown County 4-H club.

4-H is the largest youth organization in the world with seven million young people participating. That includes Logan Vandehei and Haillee Fritsch, both of the Brown County 4-H club.

"I have been involved in many things such as the fair," Fritsch said. "I show swine and my other exhibits such as artwork and woodworking."

Ask any 4-H member and they'll tell you leadership is one of the top skills they've learned.

"4-H has helped me develop my leadership abilities between working on committees with my club to working as eventually becoming club president and other officer positions," Vandehei said.

It's a skill he has even taken to the Wisconsin State Fair where he showed a heifer.

Both Fritsch and Vandehei are fulfilling the 4-H motto of Learning by Doing.
