GREEN BAY — Green Bay Packers fans asked and Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst delivered.
The Packers have filled two big holes in their defense by intending to sign 26-year-old edge rusher Za'Darius Smith and 25-year-old safety Adrian Amos, according to NFL Insider Ian Rapoport.
However, it appears they will sign another young edge rusher in Preston Smith to a four-year, $52 million contract.
The Packers also are signing Preston Smith, according to a league source. Huge day for the Packers defense.

Preston Smith ranks 19th of 103 qualifiers at the edge position. He had four sacks last season.
Can confirm #Packers are signing Preston Smith to a four-year, $52 million deal. As @RapSheet reported, source said Smith will get $16 million at signing and $27.5 million in first two years.

Many had the Packers taking an edge rusher with their first-round pick at No. 12. Now it appears those roles have been filled, and the team will use the pick elsewhere.
The Packers' three defensive signings will use most of their salary cap space this offseason, but the question remains how much?
According to Rapoport, Amos will get four years and $37 million from the Packers.
The #Packers are signing former #Bears S Adrian Amos to a 4-year deal worth $37M, source said. He gets $21M in the first two years.
