Jerry Kramer maintains he wasn't offsides during the Ice Bowl

For Jerry Kramer, the excitement is starting to build.  Except for one thing.

"It's been a wonderful experience Lance, just from day one," Jerry Kramer told our Lance Allan.  "The only negative thing we've ever heard is that guy in Dallas that said I was offsides at the Ice Bowl."

Which wasn't true?

"Which of course isn't true!" said Kramer.  "I got a great start. I wasn't offsides."

With news that fellow inductee Terrell Owens won't attend the ceremony, Kramer can understand, to a degree.

"I just think he's a little immature.  Still at this point, and emotional.  And I went through all those emotions probably that he's going through.  I don't care what they say, I'm not going!  They can take it and stick it."

So what kept Kramer out of the Hall, for 44 years?

"Maybe they're upset about my books.  Maybe there's something there.  And then maybe it was too many Packers.  and you know, I don't know what it is."

But now he's in, and with Johnsonville saluting him because of his commanding performance in a memorable ad, he can sit back and laugh that he's gotten the call, to the Hall.

"I got such a kick out of that full-page ad," Kramer said with a laugh. "Dedication, commitment, and sausage. It was funny!"
