A former Green Bay Packers player who played under Curly Lambeau and fought in World War II was in Washington D.C. on an honor flight.
Offensive lineman Erv Dzierzewski traveled on the honor flight and said, "I'll admit, I cried."
Erv talked to our Lance Allan about the flight, and about playing for the legendary and demanding Curly Lambeau.
“My wife and I were having ice cream," said Erv, "and Curly walked by and said ‘Hey, in the room. It's 9 o'clock curfew!’"
Erv played offensive line at just 192 pounds and he’s never been to the field with his former coach’s name on it.
