At least one Green Bay Packers player is scoffing at departed tight end Martellus Bennett's claims that he was forced by team doctors to play through a shoulder injury.
Bennett was cut by the team earlier this month for failing to properly disclose an injury.
Two days after getting cut, Bennett was picked up by the New England Patriots, the team he won a Super Bowl with last season, and also ripped the Packers team physician on Instagram, say he "didn't make me feel safe and was pushing to play" instead of getting surgery.
Packers player Clay Matthews dismissed Bennett's claims on Thursday.
"He seemed to suit up and look good on Sunday night you know, whatever it was, but you know what? I think everyone knows the story there," Matthews said.
Bennett claims his shoulder got progressively worse during the season.
