It was the words the Packers and their fans had waited for, for 29 years.

"The Vince Lombardi Trophy is coming home, where it started!"

Jim Irwin's unmistakable baritone voice screamed out those exact words at the moment he knew the Green Bay Packers had clinched its first Lombardi Trophy since Lombardi was head coach of the team in 1967.

The Packers had won Super Bowl XXXI, 35-21, over the New England Patriots in a game that was a crowning glory for team president Bob Harlan, GM Ron Wolf, coach Mike Holmgren, quarterback Brett Favre and defensive end Reggie White - the five men who many credit with saving the only non-profit fan-owned franchise in major league American pro sports.
