With three simple words, a beloved two-time Final Four participant with the Wisconsin Badgers gave his team's fans news they had hoped for.
As shared by Wisconsin Sports Journal reporter Jim Polzin:
News from #Badgers forward Nigel Hayes: "I'm coming back."
— Jim Polzin (@JimPolzinWSJ) May 24, 2016
Hayes, a junior after the last Badgers season, was part of the 2013-14 and 2014-15 UW Final Four teams. The later squad came within just five points of a national championship.
Wisconsin's 2015-16 surprised many after the changeover of head coaches from Bo Ryan to Greg Gard, with the team reaching the Sweet 16.
In his career, Hayes has averaged 11.9 points per contest, with a 15.7 ppg average last year.
Hayes had entered the NBA Draft but did not hire an agent, meaning that he could return to school if he chose.
