MILWAUKEE — The invasion begins. Raptors fans arrived in Bucks country Tuesday to cheer on their team in the Eastern Conference Finals. So despite all the Bucks pride popping up in the city, there are some questions in some parts of Milwaukee on who fans are rooting for.
TODAY'S TMJ4 went over to the north side to check out what was going on Toronto Street. Chris, who did not want to give his last name, claimed there was no one suspicious on his block. No Canadian accents and no one cheering for the Raptors.
"We are rooting for the Bucks," said Chis. "Bucks in five."
With less than 24 hours until Game 1, we headed to the airport to greet the Air Canada plane as it arrived from Toronto.
"Raptors fans, welcome," said reporter Rebecca Klopf.
At first, no one wanted to own up to cheering for the team from the Great White North. But then they started showing their Canadian pride.
"Go Raptors," shouted a passenger from the Air Canada flight as he walked by.
"Go Toronto," said Bryce Trost from Hartford.
"We are huge Raptors fans," said Jim Wright from Ottawa, Canada.
His daughter lives in Milwaukee now, but the whole family has come to the Brew City to cheer for Toronto.
"But we love Milwaukee, it's an absolutely fantastic city," said Wright.
