Struggling Brewers reliever Corey Knebel is headed down to AAA Colorado Springs, according to multiple reports from Brewers beat reporters.
Brewers have optioned Corey Knebel to Colorado Springs and Zach Davies to Wisconsin, according to the transactions page. Eagle-eyed @Todd_Rosiak noticed Knebel was missing from the active roster. https://t.co/PGfTaB29NI

Knebel, 26, had a 5.08 ERA this season following a 2017 season in which he was named to the National League All-Star team. In 2018, Knebel converted 14 saves but was on the mound in 19 save situations. His 7 home runs given up this season are the most for him since 8 in his 2015 rookie campaign.
The option of Knebel is likely to pave the way for a return from the DL for reliever Joakim Soria. Soria had been sidelined since last week's loss to the San Diego Padres.
