MIAMI — Christian Yelich was on the field during Wednesday night’s 7-5 victory against the Marlins that lifted the Brewers into a tie for the NL’s second wild-card spot with the Chicago Cubs.
What?
Yelich, who fractured his right kneecap Tuesday night, returned to the Brew City earlier Wednesday for medical tests, but the NL MVP’s jersey made a game appearance in South Florida.
Teammate Ryan Braun wore Yelich’s jersey under his own jersey against Miami.

On Thursday morning, Brewers general manager David Stearns said Yelich will not need surgery and will be sidelined eight to 10 weeks. There will be no long-term effect from the fractured kneecap, Stearns said.
