MARYVALE, Ariz. — NL MVP Christian Yelich invited Baker Mayfield to Brewers training camp Friday.
Yelich and Mayfield became friends when they started working out at the same facility in California in 2018 after Yelich was traded to the Brewers.

Mayfield, a quarterback who was selected as the top overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft, played in the Rose Bowl and stayed in California after the game.
Mayfield played both sports in high school and has said his first love was baseball.
Milwaukee is scheduled to open its season March 28, when it hosts the St. Louis Cardinals at 1:10 p.m. at Miller Park.
