MILWAUKEE — The Brewers will extend the protective netting on the Field Level at Miller Park for the 2020 season, the club announced Friday.

They intend to add an additional 105 feet of netting on the first-base side and 145 feet of netting along third-base. The netting will end where sections 108 and 109 meet on the first-base side. Along third base, the netting will extend past the area where the tarp is located and stop between sections 128 and 129. The height will be consistent with the net currently in place.

The project comes after several people, including children, have been severely injured by foul balls in ballparks around the country in the last few years.

The netting will be in place before the 2020 exhibition games against the Royals that begin on March 23.
