MILWAUKEE -- A weekend giveaway at Miller Park was a bit disappointing for some Milwaukee Brewers' fans.

On Sunday, theMilwaukee Brewers gave the first 20,000 fans a lightweight hoodie and a 50 percent off coupon for the Boston Store.

Fans seem to appreciate the hoodie -- but the coupon was a bit of a problem since Boston Store is liquidizingand shutting down all of their area stores.

It appears the giveaway was packaged before the store announced that it was closing.

The Milwaukee Brewers apologized to fans during the game. The apology was posted on the scoreboard and said:

"Fans, today's giveaway includes a coupon from Boston Store. Please know that due to their liquidation sale, the coupon is not valid. We apologize for any inconvenience."

Fans also say there were also signs at every entrance stating that the coupon was not valid.

Last month, Bon Ton Stores Inc. announced they are closing over 200 stores and e-commerce websites under the Bon-Ton, Bergner's, Boston Store, Carson's, Elder Beerman, Herberger's and Younkers nameplates.

The liquidation sales began on April 20 -- and the company expects them to run for approximately 10 to 12 weeks.

The company has its headquarters in Milwaukee and 2,200 workers are expected to lose their jobs.
