MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Brewers' MVP outfielder Christian Yelich made his first public comments since his season-ending injury Thursday afternoon, thanking fans for their support on social media.
"Thank You to all those who have reached out over the last couple days it means a lot," Yelich said.
Yelich's season ended when he fouled a baseball off his kneecap Tuesday night in a costly victory against the Marlins.
Thank You to all those who have reached out over the last couple days it means a lot. Frustrating way for a season to end but these things happen in sports. I will be just fine and am looking forward to making a full recovery and supporting the boys the rest of the season

"Frustrating way for a season to end but these things happen in sports," the outfielder continued. "I will be just fine and am looking forward to making a full recovery and supporting the boys the rest of the season."
Thankfully, the injury will not require surgery, according to reports. GM David Stearns says the slugger is expected to take 8-10 weeks to fully recover.
Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers wished Yelich and his Brewers teammates good luck after their star was sidelined.
