MILWAUKEE — Projections are simply guesses, but this one may have many Wisconsinites shaking their heads.
According to an updated 2019 Fangraphs projection, the Milwaukee Brewers will not even be the best team in the NL Central this season. As for a World Series, Fangraphs says you can forget about that, too.
The Chicago Cubs were given a 47 percent chance of winning the division and a 5 percent chance of winning the World Series. The St. Louis Cardinals were given a 26 percent chance to win the division and a 2.4 percent chance of winning the World Series.
Then comes the Brewers' projections. The team that was one game from their second World Series berth was given only a 13 percent chance at the division title and a 1 percent chance at winning the Fall Classic.
Teams with the highest odds of winning the World Series are the Houston Astros at 18 percent, the New York Yankees at 18 percent, the Cleveland Indians at 13 percent and the Los Angeles Dodgers at 12 percent.
