Catcher Erik Kratz is staying in Milwaukee for at least one more year.

The Brewers announced they signed Kratz to a one-year contract and will avoid arbitration.

The 38-year-old catcher only hit .236 last year with 23 RBIs, but he became a fan favorite during the postseason, splitting time with Manny Piña behind the plate.

While the Brewers avoid arbitration with Kratz, 12 others remain available.

Piña along with infielders Hernan Pérez, Tyler Saladino, Jonathan Schoop, Travis Shaw, outfielder Domingo Santana, and pitchers Zach Davies, Corey Knebel, Dan Jennings, Junior Guerra, Xavier Cedeño, and Jimmy Nelson.
