Before Martha Stewart and Joanna Gaines, American women turned to Betty Crocker, a creation of Washburn-Crosby Company to help sell flour in the 1800s. In her new novel, "Sisters of Summit Avenue", award-winning author Lynn Cullen sets the story in Depression-era America, where June Whiteleather is a “Betty”, a recipe developer at the famous Betty Crocker test kitchen, and has to deal with her envious sister, Ruth. Lynn joins us to discuss this emotional journey of redemption, inner strength, and the ties that bind families together.

Lynn Cullen has a book signing at the Lynden Sculpture Garden (2145 W Brown Deer Rd) today, September 16 at 7pm. For more information on Lynn and "Sisters of Summit Avenue", visit LynnCullen.com.
