If you're trying to reach the Department of Workforce Development regarding unemployment benefits, new guidelines were released.

On the DWD's website, guidelines were updated for those trying to get in contact with the office.

If a caller's last name begins with the letter A through M, the caller is asked to call Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. to noon. If the caller's last name begins with the letter N through Z, the caller is asked to call Monday through Friday between noon and 5 p.m.

As of June 20, there were over 500,000 unemployment benefit claims still pending.
