MILWAUKEE — We're Open making a special stop on Fond Du Lac Avenue where you'll find Uppa Yard, a restaurant known for its authentic Jamaican food. Manager Oliver Edwards says they have decided not to open up for dine-in just yet.

"I have three elderly women working here," Edwards explains. "So really I had to switch up a lot of stuff even as of today when we're allowed to open up. My aunts want me to keep things the way they are because I know they're at risk."

The pandemic pushed them to get better at carry-out.

"We've always had carry-out, but I think since the pandemic hit we've been more efficient at it," Edwards says.

"We've learned to make sure that we can communicate what's going on with the customers to make sure that they have it easy, so it's moving like this versus sometimes we used to have people waiting 45 minutes."
