SHOREWOOD — Jackie Chesser is a special woman who has owned Goody Gourmets on Oakland Avenue in Shorewood for the past 15 years. Her business got hit hard because of the pandemic, but that's not going to stop her.

"It's been tough because for us," she said. "We've always done corporate fund-raising and things of that nature so of course when the pandemic hit everybody started working from home so there was no more of that. So, it's impacted us a lot but you know we figure it out and we've made adjustments rather quickly."
She got into the business when she started making more money selling popcorn than she did at her corporate job. She's doing curbside only to protect everyone.
"We have an App where people are able to log in place their orders at home, drive up, and pick it up," Chesser said. "We found out that no matter what the customers are gonna get their product. It's what they like and it's what they want so they figure out a way because we've had to."
There are nearly 20 popcorn mixes on the menu, but Chesser said the Caramel & Cheese Mix is definitely the most popular.
