La Finca Coffeehouse on Packard Ave in St. Francis is open for business, but they're not doing dine-in just yet for a very personal reason.
"Our number one factor was our mother," says owner Lizeth Zorrilla. "Her defenses aren't the best, so it was just a group decision that we took so we could prioritize social distancing and keep her safe."
So with no seating inside, they're doing drive-thru and carry-out. They say social media has been big for them during this pandemic.
"It has been our number-one way of really reaching out to our community and our members," Zorrilla says. "They share pictures online, they share pictures of their drinks, whether they're eating at a park or just taking it home."
They have great specialty drinks here. The coffee beans they use come from outside the United States.
"Our coffee beans come from our grandfather's farm in Oaxaca, Mexico," she explains. "The farm has been in our family for five generations and we always kind of knew where we came from, but we don't have experience in the coffee field so my sister and I decided to open up the shop."
They offer burritos, quesadillas and their most popular drink is the Mexican Mocha, served hot or iced.
