MILWAUKEE — The We're Open crew is checking back in on the popular restaurant Nino's Southern Sides in Shorewood to see how they are doing.
They closed their doors for a few months after they lost their former manager due to COVID-19 complications.
"The previous manager passed away earlier this year. The restaurant was closed for a while. There were a lot of people that may have known her so... Since the reopening, we've had a lot of support. The customers are coming back," said Mia Moore, Restaurant Sales Manager. "They still love the food they still love southern hospitality. They're still coming in and we've been very fortunate."

Moore is now running the show at Nino's after the restaurant opened their doors back up and re-branded themselves.
"These people are excited. They love soul food, and they are excited that we're open. A lot of people are surprised that we're open. They are surprised about our menu and the stuff that we serve," said Moore.
At Nino's Southern Sides, there's plenty of food to choose from.
"People love to have greens. They love yams. They love macaroni and cheese. Those are the number one things that they love," said Moore. "They love our catfish, they love our chicken and our meatloaf."
Nino's Southern sides in Shorewood is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. The recommendations are the catfish, the fried chicken, and the greens.
